EDIT: I did some correction of spelling.
So alot has happened since my last post. Since the shed two Saturdays ago, I thought I'd try and seen what Frank (the rat) would do with Buddy alive. Well he tried to bite him twice. I wasn't happy. So, when Wednesday rolled around, I was happy to see Frank go bye-bye. I did the old 'pillow case' method. And well...ended up breaking his neck...twice. I only had to dangle the rat for...less than a minute and Buddy nabbed him. Tried to take it side on for like 10 minutes, then finally found himself to it's head. He had a hard old time. But he got it down. Poor Buddy was stretched to the max I think. His "lips" were all red and kind of bruised. Probably from trying to take it side on. He acted alittle funny afterwards, but back to his old self in no time. This week passing. I figured I give Buddy a break. I had got 3 mice from the week before. 2 females and a male. I put Buddy with the male first. He didn't pay much attention to it. I grabbed the one female, since the other is very much pregnant (and I want to keep her to grow the litter for food). I swear to god that that mouse didn't even hit the bottom of his feeding container and Buddy had her. LoL...she peed herself (which was sprayed up over the wall) and pooped herself. The poor male was scared shitless. Anyways, I figured Buddy would have ate the male. Nope. He decided he was going to sleep right in the container. I waited 2 days and tried with the male again. I wanted to get him out of the cage with the pregnant mouse, incase she has them, I don't want him eating them. Sure enough Buddy took him. I was so proud of my boy.
Anyways, it's been 3 mice and 1 young rat later and Buddy STILL hasn't pooped. Should I be concerned? I thought snakes pooped alittle more often. But I could be corrected.
Besides all that excitment. My fiance & I are starting to talk about buying the other Ball Python at the store. I have to ask my manager tomorrow morning how much he'll be. Probably cheaper than Buddy was. I got him for $90. The ball at the store will probably be $60-70. I'm pretty sure sticking to males together is probably not a good idea. Especially with the size difference. Buddy being 3ft long, 5-6inches in diameter, and the other ball (who I call Kitty, HaHa) being 1.5-2ft long...maybe 3-4inches in diameter. If we get him, we'll probably get a 20gal for him. And maybe, my fiance may make a tank for him. Anyone have any suggestions on building your own tank for a snake?
Anyways, I guess that's enough yapping. LoL! Later my follow snake lovers!

As for cage building tips, stick to water based paints and sealers, make sure there are no fumes, and think about how much this cage is going to weigh. Using acrylic instead of glass will make it lighter, and if you're using wood, make sure you seal it against humidity and other wetness really, REALLY well.

My fiance thought you could, but I figured much that it wouldn't be a good idea. I'd rather see them in their own tanks.

I feed him every Wednesday. It was only different this time, because of me wanting the other mice away from the mama mouse.

I'm just going by what you posted. Sorry if there's been any confusion because of it.
Buy another $5 kritter keeper or something? Your snake is not a disposal.

give buddy a bath to let him soak a bit and try to stimulate a poop. (not right after feeding though)
reaper goes everytime i put her in the tub, and it gives her exercise (she is so lazy :p)
one thing about the tub, make sure the water is cool to your touch and that the high end of the tub isn't so full that buddy cant rest if he wanted to.
good luck! and miss talkign to you!

Good idea, I remember reading someone doing that before.

So...Buddy took an pre-killed mouse fine? Why did you feed live the next time?
Housing two snakes together is rarely a good idea, whatever the sex. If one gets sick they both will. There have been incidents where one has eaten the other. Some people manage it fine... But on the whole, it's not a good idea and your snake will not appreciate it. They're solitary animals.
I've built my own tanks using these step by step instructions. It's easy and looks good when done. :)

I'll have to check that out!
